Erbium-doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Er:YAG) is a pale green crystal with various output wavelength. Typically, highly doped Er:YAG, about 50% Yttrium atoms replaced by Erbium, is used as laser medium for 2940 nm wavelength. Due to the strong water and human body fluid absorption at this wavelength. Er:YAG laser has a wide dental and medical applications.
